About Us

Showcasing LCB’s individualism and discerning taste. The hand-carved oak counter and shelves lend a naturalistic feel to the cool, white interior, in which you can buy a designer piece from the new men and women’s LCB clothing range, catch a specialist movie, or sip a fair trade, organic coffee as you listen to unsigned bands and settle for the time being with merely surfing the net.

LCB was the vision of Pete and Mark Lindsell who started shaping several years ago after a chance meeting with Gonzalo Martinez of Quiksilver Surfboards on the beach in Portugal. Whilst traveling around Europe for two consecutive summers, Pete and Mark worked with Gonzalo to learn the fundamentals of surfboard design and manufacture. When back in the UK, Pete and Mark made their mark on the UK surf industry by developing their revolutionary short board the Airborne.

At the beginning of 2005 LCB started working on a new type of surfboard. By employing new technologies and techniques more commonly utilized in other board sports and using materials specifically chosen for performance characteristics a board was developed that was lighter, faster and significantly stronger than its PU equivalent. The result was the LCB E-series, custom made from start to finish and durability to the rails. The board contains a combination of glass, Kevlar and carbon fibre and balsa and epoxy resin. When used in a sandwich construction these materials properties are enhanced greatly. The result of this is a board that is incredibly strong.

2005 also saw Caroline Lindsell and Fiona Mullon join the team, both with several years experience in surf and street fashion design ,shortly after LCB Clothing was born. The range has been designed to have a vintage well loved appearance. All our products are made of the finest quality fabrics giving each garment a very long life which only gets better with age. Silhouettes are casual yet body conscious with our target customer of 16-35 years of age.
